Why NOPAL LIFE uses rhassoul

Born from the Atlas Mountains, just as our prickly pear is born from arid lands, rhassoul embodies the North African cosmetic tradition that NOPAL LIFE champions: mineral, sensory, and effective without harshness. It purifies gently — then Opuntia oil nourishes.

Frequently asked questions about rhassoul

Why is rhassoul said to "wash"?

Its mineral structure naturally captures sebum and impurities, like a gentle soap but without surfactants — it's the traditional washing clay of the hammam, used for centuries in Morocco.

Can it be used on hair?

Yes, that's one of its emblematic uses: as a washing paste, it purifies the scalp and restores volume to the roots, without sulfates.

What's the difference with bentonite?

Rhassoul is significantly gentler: it purifies without drying, whereas bentonite is powerfully absorbent. Sensitive skin → rhassoul; very oily skin → bentonite.

What should it be mixed with?

Lukewarm water, chamomile or rose floral water. A drop of jojoba oil in the paste further softens the mask for normal to dry skin.
