Nutrition & Repair: nourishing and comforting the skin
Nourishment & Repair
Intensely nourish the skin, comfort weakened areas, and help it regain suppleness and comfort.
Understanding the Need for Nourishment
Hydrating provides water; nourishing provides lipids. When the skin lacks oil — due to cold, wind, age, repeated cleansing, or skin type — its protective film becomes depleted: it becomes rough, uncomfortable, dull, sometimes marked by dry patches or small flakes. This is skin that needs to be comforted.
In cosmetics, "repair" means helping the skin regain its comfort and smooth appearance by supporting its natural protective film — not treating an injury, which falls under the care of a health professional. The right tools: vegetable oils rich in essential fatty acids, nourishing butters, and active ingredients that support the skin barrier.
Visible Signs
- Rough skin to the touch, which "catches"
- Dry patches, fine flaking
- Persistent discomfort, sensation of tight skin
- Dull complexion, lack of suppleness
- Skin that tolerates cold and wind less well
Possible Causes
- Dry skin type (naturally low sebum production)
- Climate: cold, wind, dry air, sun
- Too frequent or overly harsh cleansing
- Age: skin produces fewer lipids over time
- Very hot water during cleansing
- Frequent exfoliation on uncomfortable skin
- Too light textures in winter
- Forgetting fragile areas: lips, contours, hands
Good Practices
Layer intelligently: first water (hydrating serum), then oil to seal it (rich cream, then oil or balm in the evening if needed). In winter or after an exposed day, the evening balm acts like a blanket: upon waking, the skin is visibly more supple. And always cleanse gently — the oil removed in the morning must be replaced.
Useful Ingredients
The best of plant-based nutrition: shea butter, the reference for comfort; argan oil, nourishing and softening; prickly pear seed oil, our signature, rich in essential fatty acids and vitamin E; squalane, similar to the skin's natural lipids; and plant-based ceramides, which support the cohesion of the skin barrier.
To Be Handled with Care
Nourishing doesn't mean suffocating — some guidelines:
What Type of Skincare Formats?
- Face oil — pure nourishment, for evening use
- Rich cream — daily care for dry skin
- Balm — intense comfort for very dry areas
- Nourishing mask — weekly comfort bath
