A hyaluronic acid gel moisturiser with an ultra-light texture and a matte finish. For skin that cannot take rich textures. The misunderstanding to clear up. Oily skin is not hydrated skin. Sebum and water are two independent parameters: you can shine and lack water at the same time — it is in fact common, and often made worse by cleansers that strip too much. Cutting out hydration in order to "dry things up" keeps the problem going rather than solving it. What hyaluronic acid does. It is a humectant: it attracts and holds water in the surface layers. The effect on comfort is fast; the plumped look shows mostly on dehydration lines, which are the first to soften when the surface regains water. Matte, without drying. A gel texture leaves no film, which makes it comfortable under make-up and in hot weather. Take care not to confuse "matte" with "drying": this gel brings water in, it does not take it away. How to use it. Morning and evening on clean skin, after your toner. On slightly damp skin, humectants find more available water to hold on to — pat rather than drying completely. On its own, or under a cream if skin still feels tight. In very dry air — heating, air conditioning, aeroplane — a humectant on its own may not be enough: the water it draws in evaporates with nothing to hold it. Add a texture on top in that case. What it does not do. It does not regulate sebum production and it does not shrink pores — no product changes their diameter. What it improves is comfort and the look of the surface.
